Budding Meterologists
Our kindergarten students are busy studying weather measuring instruments in Design Lab. They are making anemometers to measure wind speed. The engineering design process can be tricky for kindergartners not to mention saying six syllable words. We put the bar high at Discovery Academy and our students reach it.

Magnets At Work
In the PreK STEM class this week students investigated Magnets at Work. The exploration centers included: Magnet Sculptures, Train Mazes, Junkyard Metal, and Magnet Jump. The students learned about the force of magnets beyond the surface area, how electromagnets can be turned on and off, and how magnets can work through a table.
Say Hello to Rodney Robot
We have a new member of the Discovery Academy family, Rodney Robot. Students in Take Apart Lab collected electronic parts and to cloth our robot. Students in Invention Convention Club will help cover his frame and Rodney will be back at the end of February in all his robot finery. Stop and shake his hand to welcome him.
