This summer I had the opportunity to be the photographer for the United Technologies STEM Field Day at Manchester College. This is a free summer event put on by UTC engineers for kids in the Hartford region. I have asked to get Discovey Academy on the UTC engineer’s Project STEM spring schedule.

I witnessed the excitement of solving engineering design challenges by students of all ages. Kids learn best when they forget they are being taught. We instinctively follow the Engineering Design Cycle when we solve problems. Ask, imagine, plan, create, and improve. When we impower a student’s imagination solutions we never imagined will appear.
