First graders learned how to tell time with the sun during their STEM Special today. They all made sundials and drew scientific models. Some students told the time with the sun clock at recess.

Fifth graders are exploring states of matter and the whole class was clear about the solid, liquid and gas state. But what is the fourth state of matter? Through sharing their ideas in Nearpod, discussing theories and experimentation they will all discover the answer to the question they are pondering.

Moon Shadow Study
First graders went to outer space and applied what they learned about shadows to the moon and its’ phases. They took notes, presented, discussed, used models, and made diagrams to explain why we see different amounts of the daylight side of the moon during the month. Their homework is to catch a moon sighting over in the next two weeks. The next full moon is the day after Thanksgiving.
