Our final Take Apart Lab ended with the leaders of the school. I loved seeing the smiles and excitement. Their confidence and competence was a wonder to watch. Keep the electronics coming in for next year’s Take Apart Lab.

Discovery Academy second graders had their launch of 241 Sports today. Coach Lily and Chef Lindsay led the students in mindfulness, warm-ups and brainergizers. Starting in January, the students will have 241 Sports two times a week at the end of the day. The activities will rotate between Growing, Cooking and Playing. Check out Not Your Typical Day for more information.

Garden Stations Coming Soon!
With the snow on the way the Garden Committee decided we needed a little green. In January, we will start growing stations in the halls with a variety of vegetables. Basil, lettuce, spinach, cucumbers, red peppers and jalapeno peppers will be in the first planting. Classes can take taste samples, take measurements, and learn to care for our winter plants.
PARENT CODING CHALLENGE
We just finished our first week of The Hour of Code and next week will finish with the rest of the classes. We hereby challenge all Discovery parents to try an hour of code themselves. Let your child be the instructor and get a taste of what block coding is all about. https://code.org/learn. Let us know what you think or how you did.
