Families,

I wanted to let you know a little more about our light bulb fundraiser through Shining Solutions.  This program is funded by CL&P and UI through a tiny little charge on every electric bill.  Because it is subsidized by the power companies, we are able to offer bulb packages as less than it would cost at the store.

The goal of our program is not to have you become a light bulb sales force.  Instead, we wanted to use it as a way to offer families a less expensive way to make the switch to energy efficient light bulbs.  If you and your family would like to purchase a package of bulbs through the fundraiser for your own personal use or for a grandparent, that’s great.  We don’t want families and students trying to sell bulbs to neighbors and friends.  The benefit of the program is that the school gets half the money that is spent on the bulbs and if you buy one package, your student will receive the LED night light.

Please do not feel obligated to buy anything or spend any money on these bulbs if it is not the right choice for your family.
